End Table Makeover!

So this was a fun piece to do! My hubby actually found this end table in the dumpster by our apartment a few months ago... we've been needing an end table.. so why not a FREE one?!
It was missing the drawer, but thats an easy fix so we decided to go for it!

We wanted to stain the top so we needed to get all the finish off for the stain to stick. There was quite a thick layer of finish on the top, so I scraped it all off, then sanded the whole table down!

We stained the top first and let it dry.
(make sure when applying the stain you go along with the grain, so you don't get any weird streak marks)
We used Rustoleum's Kona wood stain.

Once the stain was all dry we sprayed the top with a layer of clear coat.. for protection!

After the top was all dry we started painting the rest of it white!
(We used the same white paint that we used on my entertainment center piece.)

Since we didn't have a drawer, and didn't have a lot of time, my hubby cut a piece of wood and glued it into the space for a quick fix! So now it looks like there is a drawer there, even tho its not! And I had extra hardware from the drawers we didn't use on the dresser for our entertainment center. SO now the hardware matches!

And I just LOVED how it turned out!

Stay tuned for more to come!!
