Updated Bookshelves

So I've been working on updating and brightening up our home by renovating our furniture and other home decor. So with that I decided to lighten up our black bookshelves by painting them white! 

The first step, like always, is sanding them all down. Lots and lots of sanding!

We got the bookshelves all sanded and wiped down,,, and then we moved to a new apartment.... and I went on a couple vacations to visit family and friends... so finally, after a couple of weeks we were able to start painting them!

We used smooth finish paint rollers and white satin paint. (The exact same rollers and paint we used on our dresser entertainment center and end table) It definitely took quite a few coats to completely cover the black... but it was so worth it!

It's crazy what a little paint can do! Painting them white brightened up our apartment SO much! It's amazing the difference it makes! I love it! 

This is such an easy way to change up the look of your home. Something so simple as changing the color of your furniture can make the biggest difference!
